Might as well be twins!

Megan has by far some of the craziest hair you will ever see! Lately, I've been able to put it in a small pony on top of her head. When you take the hairband out it still sticks straight up! We've decided... Megan doesn't look like mommy.... NOPE! Megan doesn't look like daddy.... NOPE! She looks like....

A cockatiel! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

10 Months Today!

Today my "baby" is 10 months old! I thought by staying home with this one I might not feel as if time flew by as fast but I was wrong! I can still remember vividly that special day! Here are a few things the lil stinker is up to now:

* She still LOVES her mommy! It's a fact.. daddy has not corrupted this one yet!
* Her brother is still her favorite play toy!!
* She is standing up on everything now! She will sometimes walk around the furniture unless she wants to get to something quickly and in that case... she sits, crawls, and stands back up!
* She is eating more and more table food. Spaghetti is definitely a favorite right now!
* She has turned into a full blown DRAMA QUEEN! When things don't go her way she immediately throws herself back and has hit her head more than once doing it!
* She is having a hard time learning how to share with others!
* She finally has enough hair to put a tiny little sprout on top of her head and this makes mommy happy!
* She loves to dance and clap her hands. There doesn't even have to be any music!
* The last few nights she has gone to bed at 8:45 and not woken up until  9 the next morning!
* She is an awesome napper! Although she only takes one nap a day... she will sleep 3-4 hours! Lovely!
* She continues to wrap her daddy around her finger everytime she screams, claps, and crawls to him when get gets home from work! Way to boost the ego!

We love you Megan and are so glad God gave us such a sweet lil monster!!

What a memory that boy has!

TeamKid started at church and Gavin has been really excited about going. Due to being out of town, last week was the first night he was able to go. Since he was so excited about going I just knew that he would be full of conversation when I picked him up! Boy was I wrong! The conversation went like this...

Me: So.. how was TeamKid? Did you have fun?
Gavin: Yeah
Me: What did you do?
Gavin: Stuff
Me: Like??
Gavin: Just stuff!
Me: What did you talk about?
Gavin: I don't remember
Me: Did you make any friends?
Gavin: Can we go to Red Robin?

Obviously, he had no desire to talk about it. I was a little concerned about whether he would want to go back this week until we were all playing downstairs yesterday and he said out of the blue... "Wanna hear what I did at TeamKid mommy?"

I couldn't believe it! In one night he memorized this?? This kid has a crazy memory! I am so proud of him!

I guess he did have fun, huh?

It just gets me fired up...

I don't know if I just look very friendly to others or if I need to stop going to Target! I meet some of the most vocal people while getting items in Target. While picking up Megan's prescription today a lady asked me how old my kids were and what I did. When I responded  I stayed at home with them now she said.. I wish I could do that. I would love to just play and watch tv all day!

I must admit that if you want to get me going.. a quick way to do that is to assume that because I'm a stay at home mom I do absolutely nothing but play all day and watch tv. This couldn't be farther from the truth and in fact people who believe that should spend a day at my house! This issue comes up with strangers frequently but has also been know to cause a few disputes between my husband and I as well! Apparently he like many others believes in magic! It's amazing that clothes that you dropped next to the bed somehow make it into the laundry basket, into the laundry, and hanging back up in your closet each week! Not to mention the pee that was dripped onto the toilet seat. It somehow disappeared on it's own! Or how about those dishes you ate off of last night, this morning, and at lunch?! They just put themself in the dishwasher right? You see in just the matter of two days of mommy not doing stuff around the house in turns into this....

Endless piles of laundry....

A desk that has been scattered with bills, school assignments, and anything else that gets plopped there!

Beds that need new sheets...

Bins of clothes and toys that need to be sorted and put in rooms or the attic...

Towels that need to be put away and sheets to be folded...

Books waiting in the bags to be taken back to the library...

A dishwasher that needs to be emptied and refilled...

A table to be cleared and wiped down...

Toys that must be picked up again....

and more toys that need to be removed just so people can sit down!

And that is only part of the house... I spared you having to see the bathrooms, the floors, the bedrooms... I mean the list goes on and on.

You see... while I understand that Matt's job takes him out of the home and mine has me home everyday, it doesn't change the fact that mine is still very important! A little recognition and a few less complaints every once in a while would be great! Although many think that being a stay at home mom is all fun and games... it comes with its share of struggles as well! So..if one were to  come home and see that everyone is still in their pjs... the best thing one could do would be to assume that it has been a VERY long day and keep all negative comments to themself! And for those who feel like the oh so nice lady at Target and believe I don't do anything but sit around in my pjs all day... I'm pretty sure my to do list would appreciate you stepping in!

You can't feel that?

Before we left to go to Maryland both Gavin and Megan had a nasty cold. Being the good mommy that I am I immediately took them to the dr. to make sure that it wasn't anything more serious or contagious! While at the dr. it was discovered that Gavin's tubes that were supposed to last 2 years were gone! Well one was gone and she didn't know about the other one cause all she could see was a ball of what looked like wax and blood. Yummy I know! The dr. asked Gavin..."doesn't your ear hurt buddy?" His reply.. "Nope"

When we got back, we went to the ENT to have it checked and assumed we would schedule a time to put another set in. Needless to say... that wasn't what we heard at all! The doctor was right... one of the tubes was gone but the other ear was attacking the tube left in there by building reactive tissue. You couldn't feel that Gavin??!!  Long story short...

Emergency surgery was scheduled to remove the tube and tissue and patch his eardrum and we left with a crying baby who wanted lunch, a crying 4 year old cause he didn't want to go to the hospital, and a crying mommy cause she now had to figure out where to get $1000 by next week!! Aye Aye Aye!

A Week At The King House

So where have you been you might ask? Well I spent 10 days in Maryland. Probably the longest I've ever spent there actually! My sister was going to the Women of Faith conference and I agreed to play "Mom" while she was gone. Since my niece was turning one the following Saturday and my husband would be in Atlanta for training all week, I decided just to stay in Maryland! I was going to update while I was there but wow! It was like boot camp for the weekend while my sister was gone. You may ask...
Jen has a computer doesn't she? Yeah she does... I just don't know when she finds the time to use it!!

Here is just my first day schedule while at my sisters....

Up at 6a.m. take Kendyll to school (with all the other kids who were of course still sleeping as I yanked them from their beds)
On the way back, stop at McDonalds to get breakfast because there was no food in the house
Get home, eat breakfast, get Kennedy ready for school
Take Kennedy to school
Come home put Megan down for a short nap because wow was she ill!
Take a quick shower
Wake Megan up after 45 min
Feed kids lunch
Go to grocery store
Come home shove frozen food into freezer still in bags
Go pick up Kendyll from school
Come home put away food
Go pick Kennedy up from school
Come home feed Kennedy snack and get her ready for gymnastics
Take Kennedy to gymnastics
Take Kendyll to boyfriends house
Stop by Gavin's Grammy's house
Pick Kennedy up from gymnastics
Eat dinner (Yes at 9:15)
Come home, give baths/Showers
Bed by 10:30

Whew! Just typing it made me tired again! That is just one day at my sister's house! The woman has a crazy amount of stuff each day! Don't have any desire to do that myself! Good thing she has good kids or I would go insane.

The week was fun though. It's always nice to be around family and just "relax". Got to see Kendyll play soccer and enjoyed a day at Playwise with Kennedy, Gavin, and Megan. Ended the week with a special birthday party! Although I don't miss the craziness... I sure do miss my loves!!

Didn't really have much time to take pictures but here are just a few I took!

Yeah for scoring the first goal!

Picnic Lunch!

Crazy kids!

Did we drop off the face of the earth??

Nope we haven't. I've been in Maryland the past 10 days playing mom for a weekend, hanging out for a week, and going to a birthday party. I'm currently trying to recover from this trip and get out from under the piles of laundry, homework, and other stuff that must be done to return my life back to semi normal.

I will be posting details and picture of our trip soon!

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philipp 4.6-7

Why is this so difficult??

Recognize this guy??

Well this house does! His whole entire family has taken up residence in the bodies of my two little ones! We've been trying everything but he seems to have camped out for a while! If only Mucinex worked as well as it says it does!
Until then... it's countless tissues and nose sucking sessions for me! Lovely!

You Know You Should've Stayed In Bed When...

You know you should've stayed in bed when:

* You wake up at 3 a.m. to your dog barking for no apparent reason and then are unable to go back to sleep because that lovely dog woke up not 1 but 2 children while barking

* Those same children who didn't fall back asleep till 5 a.m. are awake and ready to play at 6:15 a.m.

* Sending the older one back to bed and hoping the little one will fall back asleep on her own.. you drift off into a light sleep only to hear a LOUD crashing sound from the baby monitor followed by screaming! You run in to discover she can now reach things on the toy shelf next to her crib and has knocked the heavy puzzles onto the floor

* Your son asks for toaster streudels for breakfast. While trying to multitask and make your daughter her breakfast at the same time you don't realize that the baby food container you put in the microwave apparently still had a little bit of the wrapper on and it sparks a fire in the microwave.

* Trying to deal with the fire you smell something else burning... yep... the toaster streudels are burned! Nice.

* By the time you make a completly different breakfast, get children dressed, and ready to go you have 10 min to get to the doctor. While walking out the door you realize you have poop on your shirt!

* Looking down you realize you aren't the only one with "poopy" clothes. Back upstairs to change the shirt and clothes.

* You now have 5 minutes. You get in the car and hit the gas... a little too hard... blue lights in the mirror. Gotcha! (You shake your head, say some not nice things and then after a lecture and thankfully no ticket get back on the road)

*  Arrive at the dr. appt. You're late. Have to wait for next appt.

* The younger one has to get a shot. However, the older one is acting like you just told him he has to get 6 shots! Tantrum city! Not to mention the younger one is right there with him!

* A normal 9 month check turns into pink eye and a yeast infection. 2 more prescriptions!

* To avoid another episode like the morning you get chick fil a for lunch. Coming in the door... that stupid dog that woke the kids up jumps on you and to avoid dropping the child you are holding or the food you do a little dance just to drop the older kids drink. Crash! Cue... older kid crying screaming..etc.

All this and it wasn't even 1:00 yet! So thankful for naptime and hoping the afternoon doesn't beat out the morning!

A New Way To Get Around...

I was vacuuming the stairs. I kept seeing Gavin drag his sleeping bag around in circles and when I finally realized what he was doing I had to get the camera! These kids are crazy!

Who needs to walk or crawl?
