I Spy...

I spy with my little eye...

A naughty little girl (who has been told no several times) playing behind the air hockey table!!

And wouldn't you know... she was right in the middle where I couldn't get to her. I felt like I was trying to get a cat out from under the bed! It was crazy... I tried calling her and getting a favorite toy... she just sat and laughed...

Oh dear.. I can already see... this girl is gonna be trouble!

9 Months Today....

It's true... today my little girl is 9 months old! How did it happen? She is growing up so fast right before my eyes and there is nothing I can do but be thankful that I am able to spend every minute of it with her so far. Any mom would be a liar if they said they didn't question how they would be able to love their second, third, etc. child more than they do their first. However, this little girl has captured my heart in a way like no other. My bond with her is unique and special. I can't say that I love her any more or less than Gavin... I can just say it's different! Here are some things my not so much "baby" anymore is doing at 9 months...

* She is everywhere and into everything! Don't leave the room for a second cause when you do she'll be in the dog food, opening the cabinets, and just about anything you don't want her doing!
* She has finally learned how to shake her head yes. We were beginning to wonder if all she would do is say no!
* She waves bye bye (although only when she feels like it)
* She gets super excited whenever daddy comes home from work or mommy walks into the room! Makes my heart melt everytime and I can't help but want to pick her up and squeeze her and give her a big kiss!
* Her brother is her favorite play toy!
* She is pulling up on just about everything but is too lazy to stand up on her feet. She just sits on her knees!
* Although extremely messy.... she LOVES fig newtons for snack!

It's hard to remember what life was like before Megan came along. She fits so perfectly and we all love her very much!

Recognize the dress? It's the pillowcase dress I made for her! :)

When Is Kid's Day Then??

After Father's Day, Gavin was a little upset that Daddy got presents and was able to do anything he wanted for the day and it wasn't even his birthday! We tried to argue that everyday was Kid's Day but well.. let's face it. The boy is good at arguing! After a long conversation we decided we would institue our own Kid's Day. It would be a new family tradition. The last Saturday in August would be Kid's Day. That day the kids got to make the decisions (well within reason that is). So... today is the last Saturday in August which means... TODAY WAS THE DAY!! The word excitement does not describe how Gavin was feeling. I'm pretty sure he has been talking about it everday since June!

So this morning we woke up... ate a waffle breakfast and opened one small gift.(Don't worry no money spent here. We take presents that never got opened or got opened and forgot about and put them in the top of the closet for "especially good behavior days" or such occasions like these!)

Then we began our day. Fortunately, the christian radio station sponsered the Kid's Spectacular Day at the State Fairgrounds. Everything was completely free! When I say everything I mean... EVERYTHING! Popcorn, Snow cones, drinks, candy, inflatables, shows, games, etc. It was awesome!! A perfect way to spend the morning of our Kid's Day.

The next request was the pool so off we headed for an afternoon of swimming at the pool! Always a good time! My kids LOVE the water! (And yet again, FREE!)

The restaurant of choice for dinner was Red Robin. Yum! Follow that with an ice cream cone. Yum!

Home for showers and falling asleep cuddlin with the best family ever and there you have it! Our 1st Kid's Day! A big success and all for only $35! I have a feeling this is gonna be a fun tradition.. especially next year when Megan will be adding her two cents about where we go and what we do!

Opening the presents! Gavin got Color Wonder and Megan got a new baby doll!

Watching the puppet show

Just some of the inflatables.... I know there were at least 10!
Bowling
Fighting with daddy!

Someone got captured!

A balloon sword

Where was Megan you ask??

Being a happy girl cause Mommy gave her some blue snow cone!
(See the blue around her mouth?)

Her new goofy smile! Haha!

And if you ask Gavin what is favorite part of the day was... he'll tell you this...

You know you want to...

There once was this cute little girl named Megan

She got bored with crawling so she decided to sit up. She got bored with sitting up so she decided to would try pulling up. So one day she sat next to her play table...

She kept pulling and pulling on her table. If one side didn't work... she crawled to the next side and tried that one until.... she got up on her knees

Her mommy said... "good job, big girl! Keep going.. " And Megan

was happy just playing with the toys she could now reach. Her mommy even tried to help her and told Megan... "go ahead.... you know you want to!" Megan bounced a couple times and....

just sat and laughed at her mommy! She bounced some more and then she moved one foot.. two foot and then....

sat and smiled at her mommy again! Just as her mommy was about to put the camera away cause she obviously just enjoys being on her knees she... moved one foot... then the next and the anxious mommy got her camera out again and.......

THE CAMERA BATTERIES DIED!!! Yep, just as the big girl pulled up into a standing position... the batteries just died on me! And do you think she would do it again when mommy replaced the batteries? Yeah right... we do know that she is my child right?!

Mommy will just have to catch her again another time... there is no doubt that pretty soon she'll be doing it all the time!

"I Would Never..."

If you know anything about me you know that I would never ever dream about complaining about anything! If there is work to be done I just jump right in with a big smile on my face! I would never dream about saying, "Umm... I'll just do that tomorrow" or even consider waiting to see if my husband will do it first! Nope, not me!

So then if you know all that stuff you also may know that I would NEVER complain about vacuuming the stairs. No way! I just love getting the vacuum out to drag it up and down the stairs while trying to get every little dog hair from the tightest of spots, switching the tools a million times while having an 8 month scream at the top of her lungs to pick her up and a 4 year old asking me to turn on the tv or get him a drink etc. . It's just one of my favorite things to do. Right up there with cleaning the bathtub and showers! Which is why I would NEVER wait 3 weeks before getting the vacuum out to go through that process again.

I would also NEVER have the bright idea of getting the 4 year old to do it for me when he said he wanted me to take him to the pool today. Nope, not me. There's laws against that. I'm not all about child labor! That would just be mean of me and not to mention just plain lazy!

However, if that sort of thing ever did happen in my house.... I'm sure it's was purely just a lesson on responsibility and helping others. After all... it is important lesson to learn and one that I wouldn't want my son to miss out on! :)

What could be so important??

While playing in Megan's room I heard the phone ring. I jumped up and ran to the other side of the house (yes I know... I really need a phone on both sides but hey at least I get exercise!) to get the phone. When I came back Megan had left her room. That's right in 1 minute flat the girl was gone!

What could be so important that one would leave a room full of fun toys like this....

in 1 minute flat you ask??

Why..... the FAR more exciting room across the hall!

Who would want to play with those toys when you can crawl to your brother's room and play with

his geotrax! It is far more fun to destroy your brother's train as it comes around the track he just spent 20 minutes putting together!

After all everything is better when you are with your big brother right??

(complete with her eyes closed just like her daddy!)

Look what I can do!

Slow down lil lady... you are growing up so fast!
