My Warranty

Dear God,

This is Lauren. I'm gonna need to use my child warranty that you meant to send with Gavin when he was born. You see, other than sickness and the occasional tantrums he has been pretty good for the last 3 years. Something has happened in the last month or so and he has changed dramatically. I will be needing some new parts to turn him back into the boy I used to have.

Currently I am in need of....

* a new mouth - one that does not talk back, yell, or say no
* a new heart - one that loves mommy more than anything in the world and would be
crushed if he were to do anything to upset her
* a new set of arms and legs - ones that don't hit or kick his friends when he gets
angry

I fully believe that once these parts are replaced I will have the boy I have come to love more than anything in the world back. Please send those parts ASAP so that his mom and dad do not consider trading him in for a new model!

Happy Mother's Day

What a very special day today is. I am so thankful for my mom and all the things she did for me and continues to do for me! I'm also so thankful that God has blessed me with the opportunity to be a mom myself. So on this special day.... I say thank you to my mom -- the best mom in the world! And a big thank you to God for allowing the sweetest, most loving, 100% boy and nothing less to call me mom! I love you Gavin!

Happy Mother's Day to every mom and everyone who has been a "stand in" mom for so many children. You really do change the world one heartbeat at a time!

I didn't do it....

Last night we noticed that Emma (the dog) would not put any weight on her back leg and was hopping around the house. We have no idea how she hurt herself but we suspected a certain 3 year old may have been involved.....

Emma has a doctor's appt this evening and when I told Gavin that daddy had to take Emma to the doctor because her leg was hurt he responded with.....


"Her leg is not hurting cause I pushed her... I didn't do anything!" Yep... that's what they all say... we'll see what the vet says....

Sorry Emma.... Gavin really does love you!

Hot weather is here....

Last weekend Dad, Mom, and Kendyll came down to play out in the sun. It was 90 degrees and hot! Perfect time to bring out the boat!

We are back!

My hard drive failed so all my things have to be done on my laptop now. It took me a little while to transfer pictures onto my laptop but I have finally done the latest pictures.

For Easter we were up in Maryland. We had a very busy weekend. On Saturday afternoon my brother's oldest daughter, Emily, celebrated her birthday at Rollie Pollies. Gavin had tons of fun! That afternoon we had Easter dinner and the annual egg hunt. It was a good time.

On Sunday we went to my sister's church for the Easter message and then we picked up Emma and headed to give Mommar some flowers for Easter. After that we had to hit the road for a LONG trip home. Both Matt and I had to work on Monday.

It was a very busy weekend but a fun one! Here are some pictures....

My computer with all my pictures has caught a virus and I can do nothing on it! I only have my laptop. I'll do my best to get some pictures uploaded soon. Hopefully my computer will get fixed soon too. Sorry!!

Still alive...

Things have been a little crazy lately so I haven't had time to update. I'll briefly let you in on the last couple weeks...

About 8 of Gavin's closest friends at school all came for a St. Patrick's Day party at our house. Each month one parent hosts and the rest get to go out for a night of free babysitting. This month was our turn. Gavin really enjoyed spending time will all of his friends and decorating cupcakes. However, he did tell us after they all left that he didn't want any brothers or sisters. Haha! Sharing toys is only fun for so long! Here are a few pictures of some of the fun we had....
