So glad they get along...

I know my time will come when my kids will be fighting over little minor things and I'll want to be pulling my hair out. But right now... I must admit... It is super cute to watch them interact together! I was folding some sheets today when I heard Gavin talking to Megan in her room. Scared of what might be taking place while I was not in the room,  I went in to check on them. Much to my surprise he wasn't trying to pick her up, roll her over, or shove a toy in her face! He was reading her books and she was just looking at him like he was her hero. I loved it! So of course I had to take a picture to remind them in a few years that they really do love each other!!

Is he really that funny?!

I kept hearing Gavin make some ridiculous noises downstairs and I could kinda hear Megan over him. I wasn't sure if she was crying or laughing. She was laughing! Why does she think he is so funny? I personally think he is just spastic! Haha!

Finally... a Friday Funday...

It's been a while since we have been able to have a Friday funday. Gavin has to keep at least 2 bananas for 4 out of the 7 days to get Friday funday. Needless to say.. that hasn't been happening at our house. But this week.. he finally did it. He made it through exactly 4 days. No more. No less. And definitely not in consecutive order! But.. he did it!

He has been going to swim lessons on Thursdays and loves it! The last couple times Megan has shown a big interest in the "big bathtub" so I thought it was only appropriate to go swimming for Friday funday. Since none of the outdoor pools are open until tomorrow I searched for indoor pools that were baby friendly.

I decided on Pullen Aquatic Center which is right next to Pullen Park in downtown Raleigh. They had a pool that was ideal for little ones. Their teaching pool goes from 0 to 4 feet. Perfect.

BOTH of the kids enjoyed themselves and the best part... they were exhausted!!

Unfortunately, swimming (and specifically swimming with an infant) doesn't work well in conjunction with taking pictures. All I have is one right before swimming and one that Gavin took of Megan. Sorry :(

This melts my heart!

I love to hear a baby laugh! It took us forever to find what would make Megan laugh. Finally her crazy brother got her to laugh by kissing her over and over again on her tummy. Matt tried it and.... it worked! Good job Gavin! Enjoy....

Give me that washcloth!!

To say Megan LOVES the bath would be an understatement! However, I'm not sure what she enjoys more.. the bath or the washcloth!! The other night Matt was giving her a bath and he called me in to see her. Whenever you take the washcloth away from her she kicks her feet and goes crazy until you give the washcloth back to her! It is really funny to watch. She was alot crazier before I got the camera... I guess she must be camera shy I dunno... but I did get some of it to share. Sorry about it being turned around and hard to see!

Mother's Day

I discovered a whole new meaning of the word LOVE the moment I became a mother! Thank you to my firstborn, Gavin, for making me a mother and giving me a new adventure each day. Thank you to my lovely daughter, Megan, for making me a better mother and giving me a new reason to smile each day. And finally thank you to my loving husband, Matt for supporting me and encouraging me to be the mommy I am today!

No matter how hard it may be at times....

National Day of Prayer

Today is known for being the National Day of Prayer. I know it was meant to pray for our country but I am certain that it would not be wrong to pray about something different. To be honest... our country really hasn't been on my top ten list lately... Being a mommy and all the struggles that come with it has. So I decided to direct my prayers this way. Have you ever read the books by Stormie Omartian? I really enjoy them. So today.. I prayed this prayer from her book "The Power of a Praying Parent" :

"Lord,

I submit myself to You. I realize that parenting a child in the way You would have me to is beyond my human abilities.

I know I need You to help me. I want to partner with You and partake of Your gifts of wisdom, discernment, revelation, and guidance.

I also need Your strength and patience, along with a generous portion of Your love flowing through me.

Teach me how to love the way You love. Where I need to be healed, delivered, changed, matured, or made whole, I invite you to do that in me.

Help me to walk in righteousness and integrity before You. Teach me Your ways, enable me to obey Your commandments and do only what is pleasing in Your sight.

May the beauty of Your Spirit  be so evident in  me that I will be a godly role model.

Give me the communication, teaching, and nurturing skills that I must have.

Make me the parent You want me to be and teach me how to pray and truly intercede for the life of this/these child(ren).

Lord, You said in Your word, "Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive" (Matthew 21:22)

In Jesus' name I ask that you will increase my faith to believe for all the things You've put on my heart to pray for concerning this/these child(ren).
